How do I begin coaching?
You will need the minimum requirement level of qualifications for coaching in football alongside a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check. These qualifications are to be completed with the England Football Association, where all coaches require an FAN number to register. This FAN number will be your personal ID throughout the coaching journey.

Can I be a member of Longsight Eagles while in the process of completing these qualifications?
Can I be a member of Longsight Eagles while in the process of completing these qualifications?Yes, you can although a DBS check will need to be approved before working with children. Once this is approved by the clubs welfare Officer, you can complete the courses alongside assisting with LongsightEagles under supervision with a fully qualified coach or club member.

Introduction to Football Coaching (Level One)
I have already obtained the minimum qualification requirements for football coaching and will be interested in managing a team. What would be my next step?
Invitations to one of the clubs training days or coaching develop days will be sent individually. This willgive an insight to how the clubs development programme varies between different age groups. Meet thecoaching team and practice attending.
Higher qualifications after the Introduction to Football Coaching can be applied through the FA LearningCourses. Be aware these courses select candidates applications are successful. Here are the qualifications below.
Coaching Qualifications
Introduction to Coaching Football (FA Level 1)
This course is online only and consists of e-learning,webinars, online resources and community support. This course contains training to coach all ages and includes a safeguarding module. There are a number of E- modules once they are completed, you will need to complete a online assessment.
UEFA C License (FA Level 2)
This is the next step for those who want a coaching career after completing introduction to football coaching.The three course modules are as following: understanding players and their game, helping players love and learn football through practice and helping players love and learn football through matchday. This is a 20 week course, both face to face and online.
UEFA B License (FA Level 3)
This course will teach you how to develop players and covers topics such as technical, tactical, physical, psychological and social needs for the player. Upon completion, you will design practices that help develop the decision-making ability of players and help them to develop their all-round skills as a player. There is 18 guided learning workshops, and you will also receive three visits in between the learning blocks to help you to develop within your own coaching environment.
UEFA A License (FA Level 4)
The course will ensure that coaches have the knowledge to develop players, and also have an in-depth technical and tactical knowledge of the 11v11 game. You will learn about current trends in the game. The course will take place for 12 days through a 12 month period. There are 6 modules and it’s overseen by an FA coach developer who will help you with your decision making.
